ABOUT US

Rokh Research & Design Studio is a forward-thinking urban planning and cultural strategy firm dedicated to reimagining the built environment through innovative design, community engagement, and critical research. Founded by Danicia Monét Malone, a cultural strategist, urban planner, and critical geographer, Rokh focuses on the intersection of spatial aesthetics, cultural democracy, and the lived experiences of marginalized communities.

At Rokh, we believe that design is a powerful tool for social transformation. We work closely with local governments, nonprofits, and community organizations to create spaces that honor history, foster belonging, and promote sustainable, equitable development. Our team brings a multi-disciplinary approach to every project, blending urban planning, public art, spatial justice, and community-led design to generate solutions that are both functional and culturally resonant.

Through our flagship initiatives like the Indianapolis Black Heritage Trail, Stewardship Exchange, and the Public Art for All Public Art Census, Rokh seeks to amplify the voices of those often overlooked in traditional planning processes. By centering Black and Brown communities, we strive to cultivate environments that nurture social, emotional, and civic well-being.

At Rokh, every project is an opportunity to honor community, challenge convention, and create spaces that invite joy, healing, and resilience.

We are excited and curious to connect!
